YouTube is suffering an outage – with thousands of users left unable to access the hugely-popular video streaming service.

It appears that the popular video streaming site went offline at around 2pm BST, with thousands unable to access content.

Social media sites were flooded with complaints, with streams of YouTube users in the US and UK saying the Google-owned site was not working for them.

Independent website Down Detector, which measures social mentions around a certain topic to track outages across the globe, shows users reporting problems across the UK, Europe and United States.

Enraged customers have flooded social media to complain about the problems.
