A tornado watch is in effect until noon CDT for a swath of the Southeast, from the northern Gulf Coast to western Georgia, including Atlanta, Birmingham, Mobile and Pensacola.

Hail up to 2.5 inch diameter - just smaller than a baseball - was observed in Camden, Alabama around 9:00 a.m CDT Wednesday and near Clayton, Alabama, just before 2:30 a.m. CDT. Ladonia and Crawford, Alabama, reported hail up to golfball size before 4 a.m. CDT. Golfball size hail was also reported near Carlton Woods, Georgia just before 9:00 a.m. EDT.
