DAHBOO 77 - PROTESTERS BLOCK ENTRANCES TO WESK LAKE LANDFILL IN ST LOUIS

A handful of protesters sat on a street and chained themselves to trash cans or barrels Friday morning, blocking entrances to the Bridgeton and West Lake landfills.

Multiple Bridgeton police cars went to the scene by about 7 a.m., off of St. Charles Rock Road, and officers told the protesters to clear out or they would be arrested. Two hours later, the protesters still hadn't budged; none had been arrested.

As few as four protesters, and as many as six, were sitting to block each of two entrances. Another 10 or so protesters stood by. Some carried signs.
