DAHBOO 77 - MASSIVE, DEADLY INFERNOS DOUBLE IN SIZE OVER NIGHT: THOUSANDS EVACUATED

Deadly wildfires burning across four Plains states have nearly doubled in size overnight, jumping from 625 square miles to more than 1,000. High winds are helping to fan the blazes, which broke out on Monday and have forced thousands to evacuate and contributing to the deaths of six people.

The Kansas Division of Emergency Management said late Tuesday that the heaviest damage is in Clark County, where 548 square miles have burned. That fire started in Oklahoma before moving into the Kansas ranching community.
