10/31/2016 -- Earthquake update -- Italy on watch for increase -- West Coast USA new watch

A new round of seismic pressure has entered the middle East as expected, striking with a M5.5, and multiple midrange M4.0 earthquakes across Iran to the area East of Saudi Arabia (out to sea along the plate boundary).

This new round of pressure will press West towards South Europe. The M5.5 and the M4.0 range earthquakes should cause a new round of activity to strike Greece and Turkey, causing new swarms to top out in the mid M4.0 range over tomorrow (November 1, 2016).

As the new pressure comes into Turkey and Greece, there will only be a short amount of time before the swarm location near Norcia Italy will be struck by upper M4.0 to lower M5.0 activity again.

We hope for lower activity, like 15 or 20 M3.0 earthquakes that would equal one single M4.5 for instance, however plan for something as large as a single M5.0 range earthquake in the swarm location.

There have been no new deep earthquakes below Europe, thus there is a minimal threat of a very large earthquake in the near term.




The M7.1 (M6.6) earthquake which struck on October 30th was the large earthquake we were looking for. This new round of pressure should only top out in the M5.0 range. Still large enough to cause panic, and damage in peoples houses, as well as cause collapses in already damaged buildings.

The good news is, another M7.1 or M6.6 is not likely. The bad news is, the swarm in Central Italy will grow in magnitude again as new pressure comes in from the East / Southeast. Should top out near M5.0 or somewhere close to it.

Una nuova tornata di pressione sismica è entrato nel Medio Oriente come previsto, colpendo con un M5.5, e molteplici terremoti midrange M4.0 attraverso l'Iran per la zona orientale dell'Arabia Saudita (verso il mare lungo il confine piatto).

Non ci sono stati nuovi terremoti profondi sotto l'Europa, quindi non vi è una minaccia minima di un grande terremoto nel breve termine.
