Archaeologist Howard Carter found in 1925 two knives in the sarcophagus of Tutankhamun: one of gold and one of iron. A unique find, as there is hardly any time iron was forged in Egypt. And certainly not of this quality. The 34-centimeter-long knife was found next to the right thigh of the young deceased pharaoh.

Italian and Egyptian researchers have the dagger nearly a hundred years later examined with a special X-ray machine. This shows that it contains large quantities of nickel and cobalt, which indicates an extraterrestrial origin. The researchers think even found the exact meteorite whose knife was made thousands of years ago. Which was discovered early this century in the beach resort of Mersa Matruh.
