DAHBOO 77 - CHINA PUTS BOMBERS ON HIGH ALERT, DEPLOYS FIGHT JETS NEAR NORTH KOREA FOR DRILLS

The US has seen evidence that the Chinese military is preparing "for a potential North Korea contingency", CNN reports citing a US defense official, and adds that Chinese air force land-attack, cruise-missile-capable bombers were recently put "on high alert".
China continues to conduct training exercises near the Korean peninsula, according to state media.

Chinese state news service People's Daily Online reported Thursday the Nanchang Q-5, a Chinese-built ground-attack aircraft, practiced hitting simulated targets in Bohai Bay.
