Vatican officials ‘stunned’ by Irish decision to close embassy

The Vatican

The Vatican was stunned by the Irish government decision to close down their Embassy to the Holy See and oversee future diplomatic relations from Dublin.

Reuters reports that the Irish informed the Vatican only hours before the decision was made public and relations between the two are at an all time low.

Top Vatican officials up to and including the pope were said to be “deeply irritated” by the Irish move which the government said was due to cost efficiencies.

However, top diplomats from other embassies in Rome believe that without the church sex abuse scandals the embassy would never have been closed.

"This is really bad for the Vatican because Ireland is the first big Catholic country to do this and because of what Catholicism means in Irish history," a Vatican diplomatic source told the news agency.

Vatican officials fear that other countries will follow suit because of the cost of keeping two embassies in Rome, one accredited to the Vatican, the other to the Italian government

A Vatican source said Ireland only informed the Vatican shortly before the announcement was made on Thursday night.

Dublin's foreign ministry said the embassy was being closed because "it yields no economic return" and that relations would be continued with an ambassador in Dublin.

The source said the Vatican was "extremely irritated" by the wording equating diplomatic missions with economic return, particularly as the Vatican sees its diplomatic role as promoting human values.

Irish Government has denied that Ireland’s failing relationship with the Catholic Church had anything to do with the decision to shut the Irish embassy in the Vatican. They maintain its closure is entirely down to the cost-cutting programme prompted by Ireland’s EU-IMF bailout.

Ireland’s decision to close the embassies in Timor Leste, Iran and the Vatican will save the country around $1.6 million per year.

Eamon Gilmore, the Minister for Foreign Affairs to Ireland’s National Broadcaster, RTE : “That was not a consideration.

“Our diplomatic relations with the Vatican will continue and they are valued.”

VATICAN CALL FOR NEW WORLD ECONOMIC ORDER Empty VATICAN CALL FOR NEW WORLD ECONOMIC ORDER

The recent Vatican appeal for a radical reform of the global economic system, and to create an economic authority to manage it is nothing short of a frightening call to end global economic freedom, even suggesting that international financial activity should be taxed. Pure and simple, it is a leftist plan that reveals the true agenda of the Vatican. The statement, published by the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, is in harmony with Benedict XVI’s 2009 economic encyclical that “denounced a profit-at-all-cost mentality” as the cause of the financial crisis.

In other words, the Pope and the Vatican are using the crisis to promote their global plans. This has been predicted in Bible prophecy. Revelation 13: 8 reveals an end-time global religion (verse 8.), also includes economic sanctions on those who don’t participate (verse 17). But Revelation 18 reveals that the merchants of the earth work with the end-time religious power to fulfill mutual goals (verses 11, 15).

The only religious power in a position to fulfill that prophecy is the Vatican, or the Holy See, which is both a church and a state, and one which has global influence at a level where it can be involved in manipulating global economy and politics.

“Vatican pronouncements on the economy are meant to guide world leaders as well as the global church,” wrote Fox News.

In other words, the Vatican makes such statements in order to influence policy makers and legislators at the international level. While the statements often sound very good to the untrained ear, they signal specific policy suggestions in light of contemporary issues going on in the world.

For instance, when the Vatican or Catholic bishops talk about ending poverty, they are referring to wealth redistribution from the rich to the poor. To those who don’t understand what is behind these statements, they appear as pious and well-meaning, making the church look quite good in their eyes. However, the Vatican isn’t releasing much of its own wealth to redistribute it to the poor. So her statements are hollow.

The new Vatican pronouncement “highlights that reforms must assure that financial and monetary policies will not damage the weakest economies while also achieving fair distribution of the world’s wealth.”

“The Vatican proposal also called for a ‘minimum, shared body of rules to manage the global financial market,’ lamenting the ‘overall [lack] of controls’ on capital movements.”

“The plan, while couched in terms of a voluntary change for greater world good, would actually require that nations surrender their sovereignty to yet another new world body endowed with the authority to tax and manage all movement of capital between countries.” This would remove economic freedom, in the name of creating it, at least for poor nations.

The trouble is that poor nations can receive all the aid that rich nations want to give them, but it does not help them become richer. It does not even out the wealth. Corruption, intractable crime, and other problems that plague developing nations, remove the advantage that aid is supposed to provide. The aid is rendered ineffective.

Suggesting the discredited United Nations as the body to do the oversight of the new world body reveals something very important. The UN is woefully inept at managing anything of a global nature. The Vatican is either completely disconnected from reality, or is in league with these powers to promote her own agenda.

“If the United Nations Commission on Human Rights is any indication,” wrote Newsmax, “implementing the Vatican statement would achieve exactly the opposite of the desired result.”

“Far from creating a more just world economic order and empowering the powerless, a supranational financial regulatory scheme run by the U.N. would deprive billions of people across the globe of their economic freedom and concentrate power in the hands of a few faceless international bureaucrats.”

This would be much to the Vatican’s liking because she could then just concentrate on managing these few faceless international “merchants of the earth” in her own interests.

How does this form of social justice reconcile the necessary repression that goes with it, with the spiritual freedom of Christianity? The fact is that the Roman Catholic Church is not living up to its own Christian ideals in any area. Control of society is the goal of Rome, particularly its religion. Rome uses her religious pretense to gain acceptance, but works for enslavement of multitudes to her religious principles and control.

As in the past, this latest effort to use inherently coercive secular tools to achieve the Church’s social goals is a prelude to using inherently coercive secular tools to achieve the Church’s global religious new world order.

“While past Vatican pronouncements have condemned unfettered capitalism, the latest criticized ‘an economic liberalism that spurns rules and controls.’”

It is very interesting to watch as the Vatican spins it agenda into the public arena. “The statement also attacked ‘utilitarian thinking,’ saying what is useful to the individual does not always favor the common good.”

The emphasis on the “common good” is clearly a socialist perspective.

Rome never changes. “Every principle of the papacy that existed in past ages exists today. The doctrines devised in the darkest ages are still held. Let none deceive themselves. The papacy that Protestants are now so ready to honor is the same that ruled the world in the days of the Reformation, when men of God stood up, at the peril of their lives, to expose her iniquity. She possesses the same pride and arrogant assumption that lorded it over kings and princes, and claimed the prerogatives of God. Her spirit is no less cruel and despotic now than when she crushed out human liberty and slew the saints of the Most High. Great Controversy, page 571
